The terms
of working together.
These terms describe how booking Updo’s Studio works (retainers, payments, scheduling, and the responsibilities on both sides) so your day runs smoothly and there are no surprises.
Our agreement
These Terms of Service govern your use of the website operated by Updo’s Studio LLC (“Updo’s Studio,” “we,” “us”) and the services we provide. The specific details of your wedding services (packages, pricing, timeline, and headcount) are set out in the service agreement you sign when you book. Where the two differ, your signed service agreement controls.
Booking & retainer
A date is reserved only once you have signed your service agreement and paid the retainer. Until then, dates remain open to other couples. The retainer is applied toward your balance and reserves your team for your wedding morning.
Because we hold your date and turn away other bookings for it, the retainer is non-refundable.
Payment
Your remaining balance is due before the wedding date, on the schedule set out in your service agreement. Final party numbers are confirmed a few weeks ahead so we can size the team and finalize your quote.
Gratuity is always appreciated but never expected, and is at your discretion.
Changes & rescheduling
We understand plans evolve. Requests to change your date, timeline, or services are accommodated where our calendar allows. A date change is subject to availability; if we cannot accommodate a new date, the original terms apply. Significant reductions to party size close to the wedding may affect your minimum.
Cancellation
If you need to cancel, the retainer remains non-refundable, and any additional payments made are handled according to the cancellation terms in your service agreement, which depend on how close the cancellation is to the wedding date. We recommend reviewing those terms carefully before you sign.
Travel & on-site requirements
Travel within our standard service area is included as stated in your package; destination and extended-travel arrangements are detailed in your agreement. On the day, we ask for a suitable, well-lit space and access at the agreed start time. Delays caused by access, readiness, or timeline changes outside our control may affect the schedule.
Your responsibilities
To help us do our best work, we ask that you share accurate details about your party and timeline, attend your scheduled preview, raise any skin sensitivities or allergies in advance, and arrive with hair and skin prepared as advised. Final looks are settled at your preview so the wedding morning runs to plan.
Photography & image release
We may photograph our work for our portfolio and marketing, subject to the image-use preferences recorded in your service agreement. You may decline or limit this use at any time. You retain no obligation to provide professional images, though we always welcome them with credit to your photographer.
Liability
We carry out every service with professional care using quality products. You are responsible for disclosing allergies and sensitivities in advance; a preview is the time to test how your skin and hair respond. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to our services is limited to the amount paid for those services.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be handled in the appropriate courts located in North Carolina.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, revising the date shown at the top of the page. Your signed service agreement always governs the specifics of your booking.
