Overview

Updo’s Studio LLC (“Updo’s Studio,” “Updo’s,” “we,” “us”) is an on-site wedding hair and makeup company based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. We respect your privacy and collect only the information we need to answer your inquiry, plan your wedding services, and run our website well.

By using our website or contacting us, you agree to the practices described here. If anything is unclear, we are glad to explain. Just reach out.

02

What we collect

We collect information you choose to give us, and a small amount of technical information that helps the site function.

Information you provide. Your name, email, phone number, wedding date, venue, party size, and any details you share through our contact form, by email, by phone, or during a preview.
Booking information. Details needed to schedule and deliver your services, including timelines, addresses, and the agreements and payments related to your booking.
Website information. Basic technical data such as your browser type, device, IP address, and pages viewed, gathered through cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising measurement, including Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, to help us understand site traffic and the effectiveness of our advertising.
03

How we use it

We use your information to respond to inquiries, prepare quotes, plan and deliver your wedding-day services, process payments, communicate with you about your booking, and improve our website and services.

We may occasionally send you updates relevant to your booking. We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not send marketing you didn’t ask for. We do use advertising and measurement tools that may “share” limited activity data for targeted advertising as some state laws define it. See “Cookies, analytics & advertising” and “Your California privacy rights” below, including how to opt out.

04

Photography & images

With your permission, we may photograph our work and feature it in our portfolio, on social media, and in marketing. We will never use identifying images in a way you have asked us not to. Your image-use preferences are recorded in your service agreement, and you may update them at any time by contacting us.

05

How we share it

We share information only as needed to operate, and never sell it.

Service providers. Trusted tools we use to run the business, such as scheduling, payment processing, email, and website hosting, each handling data only on our behalf.
Advertising & measurement partners. Analytics and advertising providers, such as Google and Meta (Facebook), that help us measure site traffic and the performance of our advertising through cookies and similar technologies. These may act as independent businesses for their own measurement and advertising purposes.
Your wedding team. Where helpful and with your knowledge, we may coordinate timelines with your planner, photographer, or venue.
Legal reasons. If required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
06

Cookies, analytics & advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to function properly, to measure traffic through analytics such as Google Analytics, and to understand the performance of our advertising through tools such as the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. These tools may set their own cookies and receive limited information about your visit.

Because we serve U.S. clients, we operate on an opt-out basis: these analytics and advertising cookies load by default, and you can opt out at any time using the “Your Privacy Choices” control in our website footer, by enabling a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser (which we honor automatically), through your browser’s cookie settings, or by opting out of interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info). Disabling cookies may affect how some parts of the site work.

07

Retention & security

We keep your information for as long as needed to serve you and to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, then dispose of it securely. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

08

Your choices

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you may opt out of non-essential communications at any time. To make a request, contact us using the details below and we will respond promptly.

09

Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access to or deletion of it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. California also gives you the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Because we use advertising and measurement cookies (such as the Meta Pixel), some activity data may be considered “shared” for targeted advertising under California law. You can opt out of this “sharing” using the “Your Privacy Choices” control in our website footer (our Do Not Sell or Share opt-out), or by enabling a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, which we honor automatically. To make any other request, contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date shown at the top of the page. Significant changes will be made clear on this page.
